~Mark Twain As a military family, moving every few years had become commonplace. But for our newest feline family member, Tiki, the concept of moving was an adventure quickly turning sour. At first, as the packers descended upon our house and left behind loads of empty cardboard boxes and crinkly wrapping paper, moving seemed fun. As a jet-black cat who loved nothing more than to play hide-and-seek in dark places, his hiding potential multiplied exponentially. But his time with the cardboard jungle was short-lived as we shuttled him into his cat carrier and transported him to the first of many hotel rooms in our trek from Germany to Alaska, where my husband had been reassigned.
