NATIONAL: UK-based event software provider VenuIQ has expanded to the United States and appointed John D’Adamo as its new head of U.S. sales, based in Florida. VenuIQ, which offers a virtual and hybrid event platform, has hosted a variety of conferences, forums and business events across the globe; the company recently expanded in Europe as well. CHICAGO: Work in Progress 2021, a virtual event celebrating the Chicago Artists Coalition's 47 years supporting Chicago artists and curators, takes place June 9. The event is free and open to the public and includes an art auction and recognition of the night’s honorees, artists Nick Cave and Bob Faust and coalition supporter Jeff Shapack. The evening will also include a private virtual tour of the facility and a live conversation with the artists. LAS VEGAS: Cosmoprof North America (CPNA), the largest B-to-B beauty exhibition in the Americas, will host its 18th edition from Aug. 29-31 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. In accordance with government regulations and guidelines, there will be capacity limits, physical distancing, increased sanitation and other safety measures. LOS ANGELES: The second edition of the Drive-In to Erase MS gala will take place on June 4 at the Rose Bowl. The fundraiser will include a live performance from Earth, Wind & Fire, plus a Spring/Summer 2021 runway show from Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet and a live auction. MONTEREY, CALIF: The Monterey Conference Center and Immersive Design Studios have announced the new 10,000-square-foot CANVAS Studio at Monterey, a state-of-the-art space available for virtual or hybrid meetings and events starting in June. Located on the second floor of the Monterey Conference Center within the Steinbeck Ballroom, the studio will feature 360-degree wraparound screens and space for 80 in-person guests.
