Interference: One old TV affects entire village How would you feel if you found out that you were the reason your entire town couldn’t have internet? This actually happened to one person in a small village in Wales, who lived in a remote area where internet was spotty. Each day, Aberhosan Village’s broadband connection would go completely dark around 7 a.m. like clockwork. Local internet providers were stumped after replacing cables and testing connections. Everything appeared to be working perfectly but to their surprise, the issue kept happening. It was only after the provider checked a spectrum analyzer that they found the source of the problem: An old TV that emitted electrical interference. The resident, who had no idea what was happening, would flip on the TV every morning exactly at 7. Once they were made aware of what’s happening they were nice enough to throw the old TV away. What a good neighbor! Old TVs can cause all sorts of trouble, but have you ever wondered why they’re so sensitive? Tap or click here to see what causes TV static. → |
