There's so much work our volunteer team would rather be doing than asking you to fund our long overdue redesign like . . .
1-Reading submissions (we receive well over 5,000 submissions a year and do not charge reading fees!). Every submission is read by at least 2 volunteer readers and editors. That takes a LOT of time.
2-Promoting the authors and artists we've published on the magazine. Instead of writing these newsletters, emailing all our friends and fam, and posting dozens of social media notes begging a tiny portion of our 100,000+ Twitter followers to show us the work we is valued by the literary community.
3-Editing and corresponding with authors and artists we'll publish soon. We publish over 400 original pieces a year! Over 90% of the work you read on our site is unsolicited and comes through our open reading periods.
4-Setting up readings and events with our contributors, so we have a chance to build community in person!
5-Pretty much anything else.
