| Technology can help us get more done, but it can also drain us, affecting our motivation, focus, and morale. Writer Stephanie Vozza spoke with Sachin Puri, chief growth officer at the web-hosting provider Liquid Web, which conducted a survey looking at exactly how high-achievers at work use technology to be more productive. For one, Puri says, they are careful with their screen time. “High-achievers spend significant time on their screens but with clear intent,” says Puri. “This contrasts sharply with average Americans, who spend 23% more time on their phones.” Vozza also recently spoke with Cristiano Winckler, director of digital marketing for Somebody Digital, about how to spend less time on your phone— without affecting your career. “It’s very hard to completely disconnect yourself,” says Winckler. “But anything in excess is going to have negative consequences. The question is, how can we still be present online, but not in a way that is going to cause anxiety?” —Julia Herbst | |
