| The Nasdaq lost 1.6% on Thursday's session, and the S&P 500 slide 0.5%. The Dow sank to a 0.3% loss, and the small-cap Russell 2K index fell 1.3%. Today, futures are down heading into the open. S&P 500 contracts are showing a 0.8% loss, and the market is expected to open in the red. Gap [GPS] - Last Close: $14.25 A strong earnings report is lifting shares of Gap in today's premarket. The retailer reported a narrower-than-expected net loss of $0.04 per share in Q4 on revenues of $4.52 billion. Analysts expected a $0.14 per share loss on revenues of $4.49 billion. Gap's comp sales grew by 3%. Gap's fiscal-year 2022 guidance also surpassed analysts' expectations. The company said it expects to earn between $1.85 and $2.05 per share in the upcoming fiscal year, while consensus estimates call for a target of $1.75 EPS. GPS is leading the S&P 500 with a 6.3% gain. Sweetgreen Inc [SG] - Last Close: $21.35 Sweetgreen is running hot after an upbeat Thursday evening earnings release. The health food restaurant chain reported a narrowed net loss of $1.14 per share, down from $2.49 per share in the year-earlier quarter, but still wider than the Street's expectation for a $0.67 loss. However, Sweetgreen grew its revenues to $96.4 million in the quarter, marking a YoY growth rate of 63%. Consensus estimates only expected revenues of $84.7 million. Sweetgreen's fiscal 2022 revenue guidance of $515 million to $535 million also topped the consensus target of $513.3 million. SG is one of this morning's top performers with a 19.9% gain. Indonesia Energy [INDO] - Last Close: $20.20 Indonesia Energy Corp is continuing its red-hot run in today's premarket. The Jakarta, Indonesia-based oil & gas company has seen enormous gains over the past week and investors are piling into the stock. Assumedly, the influx of activity was preempted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the resultant spikes in oil and natural gas prices. Indonesia Energy has a smaller risk of disruption from the conflict because its operational theater is far away from the East Euro war zone. As a result, investors are betting the company could be in an excellent position to capitalize on rising oil and gas prices. However, if you want to get in on this one, you're late to the party. The stock has soared from under $5 a share to $20 per share since the conflict began last week. INDO soared 39.3% on Thursday, and it's up another 20.8% in today's premarket trading session. Stratera Biopharma [STAB] - Last Close: $0.73 Stratera is trending on news of significant clinical progress. The clinical-stage biotech firm has submitted a phase-1 pilot study protocol for STAT-25 to treat long-haul COVID-19 to the US Food & Drug Administration. The study will enroll about 84 patients and will evaluate the drug candidate's safety and efficacy. Clinicians will study whether the drug outperforms placebo for treating fatigue in patients suffering from post-acute sequalae of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Stratera says it expects to begin enrollment for the study in Q3 and report topline results in Q4. Shares of STAB are trading actively with a 26.0% gain. |
