US markets sank to start the week, with the Nasdaq sliding to a 0.4% loss and the Dow sinking 0.6%. The S&P 500 posted a small fractional loss of less than 0.1%, and the small-cap Russell 2K lost 1.0% on the session. Today, futures are in the green heading ahead of the trading session. S&P 500 contracts are up 0.3%. Nike [NKE] - Last Close: $130.19 Nike is breaking out on the heels of a strong quarterly report. The sporting goods retailer topped analyst estimates for earnings and revenues in its Q3 report. Nike earned a net income of $0.87 on revenues of $10.9 billion, topping the Street's forecast of $0.72 EPS on revenues of $10.6 billion. Nike's revenues grew 5% year-over-year, and its gross margin increased 100 basis points to 46.6%, again topping analyst estimates. NKE is leading the S&P 500 with a Alibaba Group [BABA] - Last Close: $103.59 Alibaba Group is trending after a recent announcement. The Chinese eCommerce announced today that it would expand its share buyback effort to $25 billion from its previous allocation of $15 billion. The stock has also surged as of late after Chinese regulators publicly pledged to support capital markets and economic growth last week. BABA is up 7.9% in today's premarket. Draganfly Inc [DPRO] - Last Close: $1.67 Draganfly's drones are coming to a Ukrainian battlefield soon. The drone company announced today that it has received an order for its proprietary Medical Response Search and Rescue Drones through its channel partner Coldchain Delivery Systems for "immediate deployment" with a group called Revived Soldiers of Ukraine. Under the terms of the deal, Draganfly will provide a total of 10 of its drones, and the company says it will donate an additional three units. The total initial order size includes up to 200 units. DPRO is trading actively with an 84.4% gain on the heels of its announcement. Alzamend Neuro [ALZN] - Last Close: $1.11 Alzamend Neuro is surging on news of a major insider buy. After Monday's closing bell, a corporate disclosure revealed that Alzamend's 10% owner Milton C Ault III purchased an additional 100,000 shares of the biopharmaceutical company for a total purchase price of $110,450. The purchase brings Ault's total control to 34,542,984 shares of the company through both direct and indirect ownership. As of today, the combined value of his stake totals about $38.15 million. News of the insider buy is rallying shares of ALZN. The stock is trading actively with a 25.2% gain. |
