So much so, they spent just about $151 billion in 2024 alone, with more than half of that being spent on pet food, according to the American Pet Products Association. “In 2018, they spent $91 billion, and, in 2022, it shot up to $137 billion, according to the association,” reported USA Today. “In its 2024 State of the Industry report, the trade organization said the outlook for the pet industry's continued growth means there may be $207 billion in pet spending by 2030.” That being said, investors may want to consider investing in pet stocks such as: Company: Freshpet (SYM: FRPT)

Helping, analysts at DA Davidson just reiterated a buy rating on the stock with a $189 price target. The firm emphasized Freshpet's robust demand forecasting capabilities, stating, "We reiterate BUY and $189 price target on FRPT, our best idea in Food. We appreciate the market's concerns ahead of initial FY25 guidance, particularly as consensus catches up to significant overdelivery the past two years and amidst recent tracked channel deceleration,” says Investing.com. Shares of Chewy are still pushing aggressively higher. Last trading at $37.97, we’d like to see it retest $50 a share near-term. Helping, analysts at Argus just upgraded the stock to a buy rating. "We have a positive view of Chewy's focus on nondiscretionary pet products and services, which represents about 85% of revenue. We also like the recurring sales from its autoship service (about 80% of revenue), which provides predictable income and helps the company efficiently manage its operations,” said the firm, as quoted by Seeking Alpha.
