Situational Analysis | June 11, 2024 It's Tuesday and National Corn on the Cob Day. ð½ And, can you believe that it's been 20 years since Napoleon Dynamite came out? Vote for Pedro! What you need to know During an hour-long debate last night, all 4 GOP Senate candidates took the stage to try and differentiate themselves from each other. John Curtis leaned on his experience in Congress, Brad Wilson on his experience in the Utah House, Trent Staggs on his experience as mayor and Jason Walton on his experience as a businessman. John Curtis, as the frontrunner, was a clear target of the other candidates. Things were spicy between the two candidates running for the First Congressional District as the candidates tried to distinguish themselves on their approach to federal spending and foreign aid. Miller repeatedly attempted to goad Moore but Moore said that he would only answer questions from moderator Julie Rose. Moore called the debate substantive and respectful, in spite of the clashes. Even though Rep. Maloy has only been in Congress for a few months, Jenkins repeatedly attacked her as a D.C. insider. Jenkins said he would align himself with the uncompromising House Freedom Caucus if elected. Maloy said that angry talking points, hyperbole, and hardline stances âarenât really a formula for winning.â Rapid relevance Two more debates today: Attorney General candidates at 2 pm and gubernatorial candidates at 6 pm; 2 Utah moms compete in rugged, 100-mile contest in New Zealand; and the 16-year-old girl missing out of Garden City is found safe.
