I’ll be honest: I don’t get into the American idea of the “holiday season” — you know, the one that starts as soon as Starbucks flips from Pumpkin Spice to Peppermint Mocha. But if there’s one part of this season that I do appreciate, it’s the way the world shows up for the causes we support through #GivingTuesday.

Maybe you don’t think of a news organization like the Forward as a “cause.” But in this age of rising antisemitism and disinformation, the independent, clear-minded, fact-based journalism we provide is an increasingly rare commodity we need to protect and nurture.
