21 Hard Truths Your Business Coach Won't Tell You What Your Coach Can Do For You We're all familiar with the role of a coach in professional sports. They're usually in a sharp suit on the sidelines or behind the bench, pacing back and forth, clipboard in hand, shouting out instructions. They are there to motivate the athletes, come up with plays and game plans, and help them work to improve on any weak links. They can tell the players what they are doing wrong with their performance, because they are able to look at it objectively in a way that the athlete cannot.
