Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 review: as small as it is big

'There’s so much to like, and only a few things to complain about'

Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy Book5 Pro 360 is a fifth-generation 2-in-1 model and comes with a 16-inch OLED display, great battery life, and a thinness of just 0.5 inches, making it only slightly thicker than Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Air. Digital Trends has shared a hands-on review of Samsung’s new machine.

Curiously, Samsung appears to be selling only one configuration of the Galaxy Book5 Pro 360, costing $1,700 for a Core Ultra 5 226V chipset, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a 16.0-inch 2.8K OLED display. Best Buy, however, has a 512GB model for $1,450 that also includes the OLED screen ...

I used the HMD Fusion, 2024’s bravest smartphone

The company has taken a bold step by attempting something many others have failed at: Nailing modular phones

Modular phones involve a base handset that you can modify by adding different components, even upgrading it over time based on your requirements. Digital Trends recently tried out the modular HMD Fusion phone, which was teased at Mobile World Congress earlier this year before debuting two months ago.

A unique element of the Fusion is something called “Smart Outfits.” Easy to put on and remove, they act as cases but also bring high-tech functionality to the phone. Find out what Digital Trends made of the “Flashy” Smart Outfit, and if the HMD Fusion modular phone has a realistic chance of success ...

You Asked: New streaming device vs. new TV

Digital Trends tackles your tech questions!

In the latest edition of You Asked, Digital Trends’ home theater expert considers the pros and cons of streaming boxes and sticks over smart TVs. The main advice is to go for a new TV if you want a better picture or larger screen, and not to worry too much about the smart TV platform.

Adding a new streaming stick or streaming box is a clever move as it can breathe new life into a TV that otherwise has satisfactory picture quality. Furthermore, streaming boxes and sticks are less expensive to replace than TVs, so you can keep a TV going for a long time just by buying a newer, more powerful streamer ...

Scorsese and Spielberg's Cape Fear TV show incoming

A Cape Fear TV show is coming to Apple TV+ via executive producers Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, and Javier Bardem

Apple TV+ has announced that a 10-episode Cape Fear TV show is coming to the streaming platform. Per Apple, “Cape Fear is a tense, Hitchcockian thriller and an examination of America’s obsession with true crime in the 21st century. A storm is coming for happily married attorneys Amanda and Steve Bowden when Max Cady (Javier Bardem), a notorious killer from their past, gets out of prison.”

Cape Fear is based on John D. MacDonald’s 1957 novel The Executioners, which inspired 1962’s Cape Fear movie with Gregory Peck as Bowden and Robert Mitchum as Cady. Scorsese famously adapted the novel for 1991’s Cape Fear, starring Nick Nolte (Bowden) and Robert De Niro (Cady) ...

LG just launched its fastest monitor yet

Gamers indifferent about 4K might want to take a look

With a blistering refresh rate of 480Hz, LG’s new 1440p UltraGear GX7 OLED monitor is the company’s fastest to date, Digital Trends reported, though we’ve seen similar specs with the Sony InZone M10S and the Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDP. The LG and Asus monitors both come in at $1,000 — $100 less than the InZone M10S. Additionally, LG said it's including a DisplayPort 2.1 connection to ensure compatibility with “next-generation GPUs expected to launch in early 2025.”

The preorder period runs through December 22 and includes a holiday promotion for a free $200 prepaid Mastercard for eligible UltraGear monitor purchases that include the new GX7 ...
