Heath Cummings has been reviewing his position rankings for the upcoming 2024 season. He initiated his way-too-early Fantasy football projections this week to assist Fantasy managers in identifying gaps in NFL rosters. A heads up: Heath usually does not project undrafted free agents (UDFAs) on NFL teams . There may be exceptions if a team or player suggests a likely reunion. Another situation warranting a UDFA projection is when a player is under contract, but it's highly probable they won't remain with the same team next year. |

Early 2024 QB Projections |
In Heath's way-too-early quarterback projections, he highlights the reverberating effects of Russell Wilson's benching at the tail end of last season. Wilson had a very solid year in 2024, and in some instances, he flashed some of his 2014 magic, particularly during scramble drills. Wilson posted 3,070 yards and eight touchdowns against just eight interceptions in 2024. There will be a quarterback-needy team that will take a flyer on Wilson, but the question remains: who? |
|
Another quarterback whose future remains a little murky to say the least is Justin Fields. Fields' departure from the Chicago Bears appears to be imminent, as Chicago has the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft . With the opportunity to select Caleb Williams and reset their salary cap by selecting Williams, many pundits have a difficult time believing that the Bears will keep Fields around. Expect for teams like Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Minnesota, and Las Vegas to be heavily mentioned in the Justin Fields sweepstakes. |

Heath's projections place Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson in positions one through three. Explore his 2024 fantasy football quarterback projections to see how the rest of his list unfolds. |
Early 2024 RB Projections |
Running backs such as Josh Jacobs, Saquon Barkley, D'Andre Swift, Derrick Henry, and Austin Ekeler are all set to become free agents, creating uncertainty when projecting their production levels for the next season. If a back like Saquon Barkley ends up in San Diego with Jim Harbaugh and Justin Herbert, I'm confident that his stock will rise by the time your Fantasy draft approaches. The backs mentioned above will all be seeking new opportunities this summer, and their landing spots will significantly impact their Fantasy output. |

In his running back projections column, Heath notes that the 2024 rookie running back class is lacking (a sentiment I share) and suggests that the scarcity of talent could lead to an uncomfortable committee approach. His proposed solution involves a Hero-RB approach, which may include drafting a standout in Round 1 and then shifting focus away from the position for a while. |

Heath's top-three backs include Christin McCaffrey, Breece Hall, and Kyren Williams. Check out his running back projections for a comprehensive view of his predictions. |
