Ohio Brewing Co. sold Ohio Brewing Co., which has been around 27 years, has been sold. New ownership is set to take over this month, says Chris Verich, one of the founding brothers of the brewery that has had several locations during its existence. Right now it is located in Cuyahoga Falls. OPENINGS/CLOSINGS A Friars’ Table set to open The Friars’ Table is set to open Friday, Dec. 6, in the former Cowell & Hubbard spot in downtown Cleveland. It’s run by a unique partnership involving the Capuchin Order, Playhouse Square and restaurateur Brandon Chrostowski. It’s located at 1305 Euclid Ave. Chrostowski promises the restaurant is about “great food and community.” READ MORE JB Bagelry brings new bagel & cream cheese flavors to Mayfield Heights JB Bagelry is bringing new bagel and cream cheese flavors to Mayfield Heights. The shop, which opened earlier this fall at 5848 Mayfield Road, Mayfield Heights, is offering asiago onion, garlic bread, fruity pebbles and cheez-it bagels, among other new combinations. The shop’s handcrafted cream cheese flavors are both traditional and seasonal. Espresso and pumpkin were recent seasonal favorites. December will bring salted caramel cream cheese to the menu. EVENTS/TASTINGS Oregon winery to be a featured at 111 Bistro dinner 111 Bistro is holding a wine dinner featuring Bluebird Hill Cellars of Oregon. Arrive is 6 p.m. for the dinner, which is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5. Winery owner and winemaker Sue Shay will guide the tasting of wines from Willamette Valley, Oregon. The winery planted its first block of vines in 2013. Four vintages will be served of assorted varietals, and the wines will be for sale after dinner. DETAILS Barnone annual holiday wine and food show set Barnone Wine Cafe’s 30th annual wine and food show is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7. More than 50 wines with a huge price range will be poured, and a buffet is included. The wine shop is in Shaker Heights. The digital-passport tour allows participants to explore cafes and businesses across the county, comparing decadent hot chocolates. Participants can download a free passport, and those who check in and try hot chocolates at eight of 11 featured locations will earn a limited-edition #TourLakeCOcoa mug.
