Tempest Awards Finalists Revealed Across 25 Categories to be Presented During Esports Business Summit |
Annual awards show will also celebrate Tempest Hall of Fame inductees as well as Ambassador Award and Sentinel Award winners |
LAS VEGAS (October 11, 2022) The Esports Business Summit(EBS), the largest esports business event in North America - as well as brands’ gateway to gaming culture - announced today its finalists for The Tempest Awards on November 2 at the HyperX Esports Arena in Las Vegas as part of EBS, taking place on Nov. 1-3 at the MGM Grand. Judges evaluated hundreds of entries to select the finalists across 25 categories showcasing diversity and inclusion, social good/charity, mobile, fashion, technology, licensing, collegiate, brands, teams, events and The Watch List. Rachel ‘Seltzer’ Quirico will return to host this year’s Tempest Awards. Over the last 10 years, she has gone from competitive PC player to reality TV contestant to host for some of the biggest events in professional gaming around the world, including Overwatch, CS:GO and Pokémon GO, as well cutting-edge audience-interactive live productions across Twitch and YouTube. The Tempest Awards will also celebrate 2022 luminary award recipients. The Tempest Hall of Fame inductees will include Dennis Fong (Founder & CEO, GGWP), Jason Lake (Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Complexity Gaming, & Global Head of Esports, GameSquare), and Kim Phan (Founder & COO, RTS). The Ambassador Award winner will be Gina Darling (Host, G4) which honors talent in the esports and gaming industry. Finally, the Sentinel Award will be Zach Wigal (Founder, Gamers Outreach) which is presented to an individual, either a personality or an executive, who leverages the power and reach of gaming to assist social causes and make the work a better place.
