The Wealth Management IQ RIA Edge Study seeks to identify the true drivers of intentional growth – how firms grew by design, and not by default – and aims to provide visibility into the value of the RIA industry. This latest RIA Edge Update takes an in-depth look at inorganic growth through mergers and acquisitions. One of the key findings: the distinct importance that buyers and sellers place on cultural alignment when assessing an ideal partner. In fact, more than half of the survey respondents rated this the #1 factor when buying, selling or merging with another wealth manager. Regrettably, this is the most challenging part of the transaction because it’s not straightforward and requires a lot of introspection on the part of the seller. |
