2 restaurants closing. And film jobs are drying up in Nola.

Session update: After Louisiana's business lobby had a banner year in 2024, Blake Paterson reports on their latest priorities. "Most of these battles are Republican on Republican in a way that we haven’t seen before," one observer said.

And some state lawmakers are trying to curtail lawsuits against nursing home management companies. "If this bill was law in 2021 when Hurricane Ida hit Louisiana, Bob Dean would have been completely protected," an insurance representative said.

Restaurants closing: A pair of related restaurants that each created unique niches in the New Orleans dining scene are both closing ahead of the summer slowdown, Ian McNulty reports.

Challenges for Hollywood South: Film jobs are drying up around New Orleans with the U.S. film industry finding cheaper options out of the country and more states offering tax incentives. "There’s not enough to go around for sustainability," one actor said.
