By KELLY P. KISSEL | Metro editor City leaders are using a variety of ways to describe bus system payments to its former director. After stripping Bill Deville of his title and job duties this week, the CATS operation is paying him $190,000 a year to do nothing. One Metro Council member calls the move "a gross misuse of public funds" and another one said it was "awkward" and "not in the best interest of the taxpayer or the agency." Paul Cobler has the story, which notes that Deville's replacement is pulling down just shy of $146,000, but he has job duties and other responsibilities. James Finn talked to family members after a toddler was killed in his bed late Tuesday night. The child is the latest young victim of senseless violence in the city this year. And, if you're into that sort of thing, there's a chance to perhaps hang out with Elvis' granddaughter, and make money while doing so. Want to see what was in the paper this morning?
