The group also noted that factors such as the high cost of attending college, stagnating state funding, and a small number of high school graduate enrollees have contributed to the decline. The Council for Christian Colleges and Universities' chief communications officer, Amanda Staggenborg, says the trend is impacting secular and religious institutions, citing reasons such as declining birth rates and decreases in the number of students graduating high school and high school graduates seeking a higher education. | Christian school student loses family in Texas shooting | | A crowdfunding campaign for a six-year-old boy who lost his entire family in the Texas outlet mall shooting has raised more than $1.5 million just days after the tragedy. Cindy, Kyu, 6-year-old William and 3-year-old James Cho were at the Allen Premium Outlets on Saturday afternoon when a gunman opened fire, killing at least eight people, including children, and injuring seven others. Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano shared that William is a student at the private school; Prestonwood Church Pastor Jack Graham urged his congregation to "be the Church," saying, "We're going to keep loving and serving this family."
