It’s Fri-yay!
That’s reason enough to celebrate, but the weekend also brings Easter and Passover. The Spurs are back in town for the playoffs, and, of course, grab your garishly colorful Fiesta bonnet and get ready to party with a purpose.

I find this a little hard to believe, but the retail industry says Easter now rivals Halloween for candy sales. That’s a lot of jelly beans, chocolate bunnies, and please don’t forget the Cadbury eggs – yum!

This week on the consumer front, scammers strike again. This time, they targeted a New Braunfels woman who was looking to buy a car online. They tricked her into thinking the transaction was going through eBay’s Vehicle Protection Program (which is legit). The deal turned out to be a steal, alright. Be careful, folks!

A Consumer Reports’ investigation may have you reconsidering your bottled water. What they found is that some brands have what they call a concerning level of arsenic- especially if you drink it on a regular basis. If you have a favorite brand, it’s easy enough to check their self-reported levels (some arsenic is naturally-occurring). Just go to the company’s website and look toward the bottom of the page for their water quality report.

Update: That Fisher Price Rock ‘N Play Sleeper linked to more than 30 deaths has now been recalled. While it’s illegal to sell recalled products, I still found several advertised for sale on Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace. Shopper beware!

Enjoy what should be a beautiful weekend and Fiesta week ahead. And, Go Spurs Go!
