Happy weekend, everyone!The college admissions bribery scandal has been the big talk this week. I’m not sure it would have gotten the attention it did if it didn’t involve Hollywood actresses. Of course, innocent until proven guilty, but it strikes a nerve, especially for those of us whose kids worked their tails off to get into the college of their choice. THE LATEST: Man behind sweeping college admissions scandal has San Antonio ties Admission to the university is one thing. Affording it is another. It can pay to apply for grants and scholarships. But, it also helps to be strategic about it. There are scholarship opportunities based on all kinds of things – even for being a twin or being left-handed. (My daughters missed out on both of those!) Coming up at 5 p.m. Friday, we’ll have some websites that help you search for scholarships that match your experience and interests. Check your freezer. This week, Butterball recalled 39 tons of ground turkey meat because it could make people sick with a strain of Salmonella. The freeze by date was July 26.
