SAN ANTONIO – Finally, some rain! I definitely prefer a day of sunshine, but we certainly need the rain . My doors are starting to stick like it’s summer. If you plan to buy or sell a house in the coming year, here’s the deal – inventory is thin, so we’re still in a seller’s market . Plenty of people are moving to SA ( who can blame them?), and that’s impacting prices. That said, compared to much of the country, we are still considered affordable. You can check out the housing forecast here . Do you subscribe to cable TV? Or, have you cut the cord ? If you look at your cable bill closely, you may see various fees you weren’t even aware you were paying. A new federal law that is supposed to kick in later this year should help. For starters, cable and satellite TV providers have to tell you what your total bill including taxes and fees will be when you sign up. You can learn more about it here . Of course, another option a lot of people have turned to is streaming. We cut the cord at our house about a year ago. The nice thing about most streaming services is you can try them for free for a week or so to see if you like them. We’ve stuck with YouTubeTV for most viewing as well as Netflix. Sony PlaystationVue is how we would watch a lot of sports, but it’s going away at the end of this month. I have to have my Spurs, Texas Rangers, and Longhorns. I’m starting something new this year - Small Business Stories. These businesses are the backbone of the economy, and there’s a unique story behind each one. The idea is not just to focus on their product or their service, but rather what inspired, motivated, and challenged them.
