Quick tip of the dayLet’s say you get a PDF in your email and you need to sign it. If you know a few tricks, you can sign it in a jiffy — without paying for another program. First, a secret: It’s a good idea to have two different signatures. One is reserved for signing in person and the other is for signing electronically. The two signatures can be pretty much the same. Just modify one with an extra dot or some other subtle variation. This way, if someone ever uses your signature without your permission or knowledge, it’ll be easy to figure out just by looking at it. Now, you can sign a PDF using your mouse but don’t do this. It will look like a two-year-old did it for you. Instead, sign a piece of paper and save it on your device using your smartphone’s camera or your webcam. You can then import that image into the PDF. If you’re on Windows, Adobe Reader DC is tops to sign PDFs. Open your file, and on the lower right, it says Fill and Sign. On a Mac, use Preview. It has integrated signing options so you can skip the paper signature. Love that! |
